Sheens coached the club in 2005 when the young Tigers stunned the NRL to win the premiership, led by Marshall and Scott Prince.
Marshall played 257 of his 346 NRL games in the black and orange strip of the western Sydney joint venture. He also played for the Dragons, Broncos, and Rabbitohs, as well as a brief foray into New Zealand rugby union.He retired from playing after last year's grand final loss with South Sydney. The Tigers haven't featured in NRL finals since 2011 - when Sheens was still in charge - and have churned through four head coaches since.
