The big question mark is over the roster and whether the club can compete for a title in the next three years. Tim Sheens and Brett Kimmorley front the cameras on Tuesday evening after the decision to sack Maguire.This column has been told that ‘Noddy’ called Maguire to let him know that he only learnt of his promotion on the day of the coach’s sacking. Maguire had no qualms about Kimmorley’s involvement.The Parramatta Eels have made enquiries about the services of Matt Lodge for the remainder of the season.
But perhaps signing Lodge five weeks out from the finals, like the Panthers did with Tevita Pangai Jr last year, may be money better spent. The Eels have until August 1 to execute a deal.
