James Cameron's 1997 global classic Titanic is set for a theatrical re-release to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary starting this February 10th.

A new trailer teases the theatrical re-release of Titanic starting February 10 to celebrate the beloved film's 25th anniversary. Set amid the real-life 1912 tragedy of the RMS Titanic, which hit an iceberg and sank in freezing waters during its maiden voyage, killing more than half of the passengers and crew members on board, James Cameron's 1997 film focuses on the fateful relationship between two fictitious passengers.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Twenty-five years after the record-breaking original release of Titanic, Paramount Pictures has announced, with the help of a special trailer, that the iconic love story of Jack and Rose will return to theaters on Valentine's Day weekend of this year in remastered 4K 3D.

Beyond the extraordinary details of how Titanic was filmed, the love story between Jack and Rose at the heart of the film continues to move new generations of viewers. Though their love story takes place in the early 1900s, the obstacles they overcome and the gradual passion they feel for one another in the face of apparent doom is timeless. Titanic may follow just one of many stories of star-crossed lovers.

One need not look further than the continued financial success of Titanic to determine that it has held up all these years later. In addition to the original worldwide gross of over $1.84 billion, making it the first film to reach the billion-dollar mark, the 2012 re-release of the film earned it an additional $343.6 million worldwide, making the film's global total $2.195 billion and rendering it only the second film to gross more than $2 billion after another James Cameron movie, Avatar.
