Now here’s a surprise firing in Week 13 of the NFL season.
The Tennessee Titans have parted ways with general manager Jon Robinson, according to several reports.
Robinson has served as the team’s GM since 2016 and Tennessee has reached the playoffs in four of his six years at the helm. The Titans are also well on their way to another playoff berth this season, currently at 7-5 and holding a three-game lead in the AFC South. It’s a curious move – and odd timing – for a team that has been highly competitive during Robinson’s entire tenure. In 2019, the Titans made the AFC Championship before falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion Chiefs.
Perhaps not coincidentally, the Titans on Sunday faced the Eagles, the team to which Robinson controversially traded star wide receiver A.J. Brown in the offseason. Brown caught eight passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns in his first game against his former team, a 35-10 victory.Share this article:
