Opinion | To hell with finals, retirement should be Cordner's next stop Peter_Fitz
After being badly concussed against the Storm in round 8 this year, he was given just one week's break before playing against the Raiders, and then a few days after that suffered concussion in training. It is relatively rare for players to get concussed mid-week, but that one was so bad, he stood himself down for a few weeks.
But here's the thing. Despite this whole deeply troubling background, the Roosters are not accepting that Cordner was concussed against the Knights. Rather we have been given not one, but three separate explanations as to why what we saw before our very eyes was not the case. Here they are, summated."It was a head knock, not concussion."
Far from playing him this weekend, the Roosters should give serious consideration to transitioning Cordner out of the game entirely, for his own good.
