Struggling with Saturday's 'Wordle' puzzle? Fear not, Newsweek has some hints and tips to help you find the answer.
For a global sensation, Wordle has remarkably humble origins. It was first invented during coronavirus lockdown by New York-based software developer Josh Wardle, who was simply aiming to create a game 'for me and my partner to enjoy.' In October 2021, Wardle decided to released Wordle to the public, after which it quickly developed a viral following with fans across the world, some of whom took to social media each day to share their results.
'Language games poke at how conscious we are of our own linguistic processes, and maybe give us a little more insight into them than we had before. That might be one reason why humans, maybe universally, have always invented and enjoyed language games!' Wallenberg added. The answer to today's puzzle will be revealed at the end of this article, so scroll down with caution if you want to work it out for yourself.
