The English attacking midfielder was hooked at half time with some pundits suggesting he was 'unhappy'
That claim from former Ibrox star and current Hearts midfielder Andy Halliday comes as the ex-Norwich City attacker was hooked after 45 minutes of a drab display at Hampden against the Jambos. Cantwell had been wound up by the Hearts defence and was booked in the first half of the Viaplay Cup semi-final for a needless foul on Alex Cochrane, before experienced Clement took the decision to retire the 25-year-old in favour of Scott Wright, who produced the goods at the national stadium.
He told Clyde SSB: "The Todd Cantwell one is pretty funny because it seems as if he's not as fancied by Philippe Clement. I know we're very, very early in saying that but to bring him off at half time for tactical reasons was quite an interesting one."
