File image of Queensland Children’s Hospital.It is believed that the toddler is the 14th child in the 0-9 age bracket to lose their life to the virus in Australia.at least 46 per cent of the adult Australian population had been infected with COVID by mid-June this year.
The research was conducted by the Kirby Institute at UNSW Sydney and the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance in collaboration with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory at the Doherty Institute and other research partners.Meanwhile, a friend of the family of the toddler who died has set up a GoFundMe for the family.
