The toddler was pulled unconscious from the water off Marine Parade in Labrador.

A toddler has been rushed to hospital fighting for life after being pulled unconscious from waters on the Gold Coast on Christmas Eve.

Surf lifesavers were notified about 9am on Friday that there had been a rescue in the water off Marine Parade in Labrador, and they found an unconscious patient when they reached the scene. Paramedics had already been called by a member of the public and lifesavers met them on the road and drove them across the sand to the patient in their all-terrain vehicle.

Specialist critical care and high-acuity response unit paramedics treated the toddler on the scene before rushing them to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
