For The WinWhen it comes to the NFL, ESPN hot take specialist Max Kellerman isn't exactly at his best. He once questioned whether Larry Fitzgerald, who just moved into second on the all-time receptions list, would be a Hall of Famer.
It's Kellerman's job to be a contrarian to fellow analyst Stephen A. Smith, but on Tuesday, Kellerman was flat-out wrong once again. He said during the latest edition of"First Take" that Tom Brady has just been reduced to a"game manager" this season. Kellerman argued that New England Patriots fans have reason to be concerned about Tom Brady — you know, just the quarterback for the undefeated New England Patriots."I'm taking it. I am concerned about Tom Brady. The fact of the matter is he was not his usual self last season, and he's 150,000 years old.
Kellerman's point within that word salad was that Brady has been reduced to a player who relies on a dominant defense to bail him out. And while age will inevitably catch up with Brady one day, it doesn't make much sense to say Brady is"NOT THE SAME GUY" when he's averaging nearly 300 passing yards per game to go with seven touchdowns and one interception.
