Tom Hanks said he also entertained another “A League of Their Own” film, which had a good script.

“I can’t wait to see it,” Hanks said. “I just saw a photograph of it somewhere and said well I’m gonna have to check that out.”

Hanks said a smart thing he did was not signing a contract that had an obligation to a sequel. He said he might consider one, but he didn’t want to feel forced into making one. But he said that, with a long time in between, they did “take a stab” at discussion a “Gump” follow-up, which he said took all of 40 minutes. Fans of the film and Winston Groom book know the author wrote a follow-up, “Gump & Co.” that published in 1995, but a film adaptation never had enough traction.

There’s all sorts of reasons in order to go off and do movies. ... They’re all a blast. You never don’t have a good time ... Each one is a huge, huge, huge adventure ...
