Tomball Memorial , the No. 25 team in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ latest rankings, went on a 5-0 run to make it a seven-point game before Carter Hagan’s 3-pointer cut the deficit to 50-46, prompting the Wildcats to call a timeout with 2:29 left. Myles Dealy opened the scoring for Tomball Memorial via a 3-pointer on its third possession. The Wildcats also crossed the double-digit mark first as Reder’s layup gave them a 10-7 lead to end the first quarter.
