Tony Pollard is a different dude. He is — dare I say it — a special player. That’s an important distinction. See, it doesn’t feel like he’s a good player...
See, it doesn’t feel like he’s a good player having a great season. And I’m not calling him a great player because he’s not at that level.
He seemingly makes a big play every game, which is incredibly hard to do in today’s NFL. He’s had a gain of 40 yards or more in five of 10 games.Just so you know, he’s the first running back with two or more receiving touchdowns of 30 or more yards in a game since Jamaal Charles had three for Kansas City in 2015.
Murray was a good player, who had a great season — 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2014 — which is why Dallas ultimately decided not to sign him to a long-term deal. The question is always price. The problem is there’s no comp for a player like Pollard and there’s no category called playmaker. You can play with the numbers a little bit here or there to make him happy but somewhere in there should get it done.
