"The doctor said, 'If his blood pressure doesn't come up we'll have to move into palliative care', and I said, 'OK'," she said. said, 'Your husband is too fat to go to hospice'," she said.Ms Fowke said her husband was later moved to a makeshift room that doubled as a storeroom in the cancer care ward, though he did not have cancer.
Darling Downs Health said it acknowledged Ms Fowke's concerns and her desire to be heard, and had contacted her to better understand her concerns directly with a meeting planned on Wednesday. According to data from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, one in three people aged 15 to 64 with a disability said they experienced discrimination from people who provided goods or services with health staff making up the biggest contributor.Data on complaints made to the Queensland Office of the Health Ombudsman and the Queensland Ombudsman is limited due to privacy provisions.
