The 12 other adult members of the Saints religious group are on trial for manslaughter, including her mother, Kerrie Struhs, and brother Zachary Struhs. Pleas of not guilty have been entered for all of the defendants. For instance, Burns ruled that only evidence after 23 September 2021 will be admissible against defendants Lachlan Stuart Schoenfisch and Samantha Emily Schoenfisch.

“When assessing whether there existed, reasonable, independent evidence of participation, I did consider separately both aspects of the common purpose, that is to say, persuasion on the one hand and support on the other,” he said. The prosecution has yet to prove that the “common purpose” was unlawful or that any of the defendants are guilty. The trial continues.
