What a unique experience
Andrew Nutter is used to working under pressure, cooking hundreds of meals for a packed dinner service. But the top celebrity chef is set to take on a smaller, more intimate challenge with the Nuts About Autumn feast.
"It's always fun to go back there - I always think of my dad, who died in 2016," Andrew, who is also a published author, told LancsLive. "I just randomly wanted to try something in that area and the village seemed like the perfect place to try my culinary skills and create some autumnal dishes."This is going to be a really fun night, people can come and relax, villagers can come down and the community can enjoy a meal together.
The Award-wining restauranteur, who also owns The Bird At Birtle in Norden, is is loyal to the cooking techniques he learned in chef school when he was 16, such as purees and stocks and believes staying true to those basic methods is something modern chefs compromise in favour of "the finishing touch".
"There's some gutsy ingredients but sometimes you can search the whole world for the best produce but sometimes they best are right on your doorstep, I went to Bury Market recently and it was a joy to just get lost in there," explains Andrew, who shut his Nutters restaurant in Rochdale after 28 successful years in 2021.
