A Chinese delegation is set to tour the Pacific region and visit the Solomon Islands to sign a security pact that has been a major talking point in the Federal Election between Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese.
The top Chinese envoy is expected to visit Honiara to officially sign its security pact the two nations agreed to last month.

Mr Albanese criticised the Morrison Government for not stepping in to stop the deal earlier, claiming he would have had intelligence suggesting the deal was being done. He argued countries in the Pacific should be free to link up with China and said Australia should encourage its development assistance, The Australian revealed.
