Humphreys & Partners most recent local projects include the 29-story LVL29 apartment high-rise in Plano that was the first high-rise residential building to open in the $3 billion Legacy West development.Mark Humphreys, who founded one of the country’s top multifamily building design firms has passed away.
“Mark was an amazing person, businessman, and architect, who truly built a legacy that will last for many years to come,” Walter Hughes, the firm’s chief innovation officer, said in a statement. “We are deeply saddened by this loss of an industry icon.” His Humphreys & Partners grew to be the largest multifamily design firm in the U.S. The firm now has almost a dozen offices in the U.S., South America and Asia with hundreds of employees.
Humphreys was a benefactor at Texas Tech University Architecture School, was the largest single donor and funded the AIA Chair in Urban Design. He was a prominent member and frequent speaker for the National Association of Home Builders and the Urban Land Institute.
