As if the thunder, lighting and pounding rain weren't enough, Thursday night's storms spawned a tornado in the Canyon Lake area.

The National Weather Service confirmed today that a tornado tore through the Canyon Lake-Startzville area at 10:40 p.m. Thursday. An EF0 Tornado has been confirmed in the Startzville-Canyon Lake area. The tornado had estimated peak winds of 85 mph with a path length of 3 miles. Damage was mostly to trees with minor structure damage. Other sporadic straight-line wind damage was also noted around Canyon Lake.
