Thousands of members of the scandal-plagued CFMEU and other unions have gathered in Sydney CBD to protest against the Commonwealth’s takeover.

Thousands of members of the scandal-plagued CFMEU and supporters from other unions have gathered in Sydney CBD, holding a major demonstration in front of state parliament.

A strong, heavily armed police presence was evident both inside state parliament and on Macquarie Street. At the time, NSW Industrial Relations Minister Sophie Cotsis said: “There is absolutely no tolerance for criminal or corrupt behaviour in the construction industry or unions, or anywhere in our state.”
