New penalties for travel to regional Victoria, police reinforce 'ring of steel' to stop illegal entry. 9News

Earlier this morning, trucks and cars were being stopped at the checkpoints, with police making sure those trying to get through had valid reasons for doing so.

He warned police would be out in full force "checking every vehicle" towing caravans, campervans, boats, jet skis and those which were carrying fishing gear. Police would also be patrolling camping grounds, parks, boat ramps, caravan parks and hospitality precincts in regional Victoria on the lookout for anyone who was illegally in the area.
