A Japanese tuner, Aero Over, has transformed the Toyota Crown Sport SUV into a striking Ferrari Purosangue lookalike with a comprehensive set of cosmetic upgrades.
Ferrari and Toyota might not share many similarities, but a Japanese tuner, Aero Over , has found a way to bridge the gap between these automakers with a set of striking upgrades for the Crown Sport SUV. Aero Over has transformed the new JDM Crown Sport into a budget-friendly Ferrari Purosangue with a comprehensive package of cosmetic enhancements, ranging from a fresh bodykit to quad exhausts and yellow badging.
This Ferrari lookalike was showcased alongside a genuine Purosangue at the Tokyo Auto Salon event last weekend, highlighting the uncanny resemblance between these two sleek SUVs. From the front, the Aero Over Crown boasts a wider, more aggressive front grille, complementing the split horizontal light strips that already closely resemble those found on the Ferrari super SUV. A bright yellow Aero Over bonnet emblem replaces the Crown logo, offering a Japanese interpretation of the iconic Prancing Horse badge. The modifications continue down each side of the rebadged Crown, featuring a new set of silver alloy wheels with black inserts, mimicking the Ferrari's color scheme but not the design - think Temu-spec rather than a perfect replica. However, it's important to note that Aero Over hasn't skimped on its Crown build, as the upgrades include yellow-painted brake calipers and attention to detail, such as custom wheel center caps.At the rear, the Aero Over Crown Sport adopts an aggressive new diffuser with quad exhaust outlets, just like the Purosangue. While there's no carbon-fiber present, the standard tail-lights have been retained due to their striking similarity to the Ferrari's. The Toyota Crown Sport starts at 5.9 million yen in Japan, roughly equivalent to AU$60,500. The cost of the Aero Over kit upon its public release remains unclear, but it's improbable to surpass the AU$728,000 before on-road costs charged for the Ferrari Purosangue in Australia. The Crown Sport, like its other Crown family members, isn't officially available in Australia, so those yearning for a Purosangue experience won't find a budget-friendly workaround!
