Toyota cutting production in half in San Antonio, citing supply chain and COVID challenges
The South Side assembly plant employs about 3,200 workers and supports approximately another 4,000 people employed by suppliers in the area.
The company, which has its North American headquarters in Plano, said Wednesday that it’s cutting the production schedule in San Antonio from its usual two shifts to one, theThe COVID and supply chain issues will affect production throughout North America, though Toyota is still determining what the impact in production volume at each plant will look like, the company said.
