Trade Minister Don Farrell says he will walk away from trade talks with the European Union if Australia cannot secure a deal by the end of the year.
Two days of talks in Brussels have resulted in a stalemate – with Mr Farrell saying Australia has not been offered a fair deal.
The EU is hesitant to allow Australian producers access to sell foods like champagne, parmesan, and feta under their respective names.Mr Farrell remains optimistic progress can be made at a meeting next month – but he says Australia will not enter into an agreement for the sake of signing a deal.
