Alfords Point Road in Menai was reopened in both directions about 3pm after the crash near Old Illawarra Road just after 6am but traffic is still clearing this afternoon.
Police allege the driver of the ute failed to stop for a routine check at on Alfords Point Road, resulting in a pursuit.The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver was unharmed.9News spoke to one woman who decided to ditch her car, put her joggers on and walk home. "Southbound traffic on Fairford Road and Davies Road should also consider using the M5 or Clancy Street and Henry Lawson Drive.
