The takeaway is set to open in a building previously occupied by a café
A new takeaway set to open in a Merseyside village could cause a 'traffic hazard' and become a 'disturbance' say local residents. Plans for the fast food venue were approved at Sefton Council 's planning committee tonight despite a late representation from Harington ward councillor, Peter Harvey. The planning application for the takeaway was submitted by Purely To Go Ltd and sought permission for the unit's change of use from a café to a hot food takeaway.
However, a late representation report submitted by cllr Peter Harvey also expressed concerns about the potential parking issues when delivery staff or pick-up customers visit the premises and stated: 'In these circumstances, customers and delivery staff may be tempted to park on double yellow lines on Halsall Lane while they collect takeaways, causing potential disturbance to nearby residents, as well as traffic hazard, and subsequent monitoring and enforcement issues.
