The AA's Head of Roads Policy, Jack Cousens says there has been a 'good improvement' in travel delays into the Port of Dover adding, 'the main focus is now shifting towards the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone' 📺 Sky 501, Freeview 233 and YouTube

Lord Ricketts, a former ambassador to France, has this morning warned that long delays at the Port of Dover"will be the new normal" after Brexit.

"The long-term, serious issue is that this is the first time we've seen the full pressure on the border after Brexit. Even if it was a full complement of the French border force there would still be massive delays, because Dover port can't cope with the volume. "Looking just before coming on air they're advising in the approach roads minimal delays of around 15 to 20 minutes so that’s a good improvement."We had lorries being stacked as part of Operation Brock on the M20, and the subsequent diversion now onto the A20 – they now meet each other at the terminal at junction 11 and that's causing congestion.

Those heading to France through the Port of Dover and the Eurotunnel have been warned they might experience delays on Sunday after days of gridlock. A note on their traffic map says:"Severe delays of 29 minutes and delays increasing on A20 Westbound between M20 J12 and M20 . Average speed five mph."
