Tasmania police have charged a motorcyclist after he allegedly fled a traffic stop and barricaded himself in a factory after threatening officers with a knife.
Shortly before 3:00pm on Saturday officers attempted to apprehend a man in relation to traffic offences in the vicinity of Gleadow Street, Invermay, a suburb of Launceston, police said in a statement. "The man attempted to flee before he assaulted and threatened police with a knife and subsequently barricaded himself inside a nearby warehouse," police said.Police said the man "was negotiated out of the building without further incident".
