Christmas Day has ended in tragedy for one family, after a three-year-old boy died in heartbreaking scenes on Saturday in NSW's Hunter region.
The young boy drowned in Lake Macquarie, several hours north of Sydney, despite the best efforts of bystanders and emergency services.The triple zero call came after a three-year-old boy was pulled out of the lake where he had been found unconscious in the water.The road where ambulance drivers were called to.
Heartbreakingly, when the ambulance arrived, the child could not be revived and died at the scene.Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District also attended the scene and have since begun inquiries into the incident.Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or
