A man has died after he was attacked by his dog at his Tasmanian home.
The man suffered injuries to his legs so severe that he was pronounced dead at the scene as a woman was rushed to hospital.Police and emergency services responded to a dog attack on a man and a woman in their 60s at their Allens Rivulet home about 10.40pm on Sunday.
The 66-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his lower legs and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 64-year-old woman suffered serious injuries to her lower limbs and was rushed to Royal Hobart Hospital.The dog was euthanised at the scene by an animal management officer from the local council.Footage of a man’s bizarre fight with a kangaroo trying to fight his dog has been watched more than 2.4 million times.The future is bleak for unloved dogs with hundreds of thousands abandoned to shelters and the streets.
