An Australian woman who went missing while hiking in Canada has been found dead. 7NEWS
native Julia-Mary Lane, 25, failed to return home from a hiking trip at Bear Lake near Cranbrook in British Columbia on Saturday.
Her housemate reported her missing, before social media posts on local community Facebook pages pleaded for her to be found.The Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed her body was found on Tuesday. “The roommate was concerned for the woman, who was visiting the area from Australia, and enjoyed hiking and the outdoors,” Corporal James Grandy said, as quoted by Canada’s NowMedia.The body of Australian woman Julia-Mary Lane has been found in British Columbia in Canada.‘We have lost our beautiful baby girl, Julia-Mary RIP in an unfortunate hiking accident. Please allow us 24 hours to process this sad news,” the Lane family said in a statement circulated on social media.
