AFL: The Blues were overjoyed when captain Patrick Cripps announced Sam Docherty would be making his return to footy, when the Blues take on the Lions at the Gabba.

Carlton went scoreless up until the 23rd minute mark of the second term — a whole 57 minutes into the contest — with the score at one stage 60-0 before the visitors kicked the last two goals of the half.

And at one stage there were fears the Blues could’ve made history for all the wrong reasons and gone scoreless in the entire first half, a record which is 0.2 from Geelong v Fitzroy in 1903. Of course, the injury-ravaged Blues made six changes in the lead into the game including bringing in the underdone Tom De Koning as the sub in his return from a foot issue.
