New South Wales fire fighters who were trapped inside their burning trucks during a terrifying ember attack on the states south coast say they are amazed everyone came out alive.
"We're all amazed.Yes fires can spin. Because having flames, embers, bushfire thunderstorms and lightning isn't enough, fires can also generate tornadoes and supercell thunderstorms.
"We were aware of the situation they were in … Collectively, the whole organisation breathed a very large sigh of relief when they managed to get themselves out," he said.
