The Coalition has proposed cutting permanent migration intake to 140,000 for two years, before gradually increasing it again in the following years."He hasn't factored in the damage it would do to the economy ... it will cost the economy billions of dollars," he said. But its chief executive Denita Wawn acknowledged cutting migration could ease pressure in the short term.
