A Queensland council is investigating two separate mass tree poisonings, including one near a nesting site for endangered loggerhead turtles.
Sunshine Coast Council has erected two large signs at sites where trees have been poisoned.Vandals have poisoned a swathe of trees and shrubs along a Queensland beach which is a critical nesting site for endangered loggerhead turtles.
The council this week erected large signs at both sites, which has prompted angry reactions from some residents living close by."It's not just one tree or two trees, it's quite a significant area that has been poisoned," Cr Natoli said. The couple said they had no involvement in the poisonings but felt the placement of the sign implicated them.Ms Pryor said she had already seen people walk by the signs and then look over at their home.
"I would just encourage anybody that if they have seen people doing these sorts of act of vandalism or have information to let us know because it does allow council to further the investigation," Cr Burns said.
