Following Mr Smith's death, the department introduced a risk management policy for roadside vegetation statewide.Mr Smith's wife, Rebecca Brumby-Smith, said she was grateful something had been done to prevent deaths like her husband's from happening again.Mr Smith's son Max Brumby-Smith, who was 14 when his father died, said anyone who knew him would vouch that he was a"great mate".
