Adelaide man Michael Paul Benfell is found guilty of twice raping a woman as she slept in her bed, after he trespassed into her house through an unlocked door.
A man who broke into a home at Parkside in Adelaide's south and twice raped a woman in her bed has been found guilty.During the attack, the victim woke confused about who was in her bedIt took a District Court jury one hour to find Michael Paul Benfell guilty of two counts of rape and one count of aggravated serious criminal trespass.
"The entire incident was over quickly and the complainant was very confused about who was in her bed," prosecutor Jemma Litster said."Indeed, she referred to the accused as her boyfriend throughout the encounter. The male in her bed did not respond to that at all." "Firstly, the physical experience was just too rough. Secondly, the male tasted of cigarettes when he kissed her, which was out of place.
