In his final social media post last month, he wrote he was looking forward to the release of his second album. “I’ve been saying for ages that LP2 will be with you soon and that day isn’t too far off! In the meantime I thought I’d post some of my old video clips to get a bit of a recap.” Another added, “Have awoken to the terrible news. Still trying to comprehend. You'll be greatly missed by many,” alongside a heart emoji.
Comedian Gen Fricker, who had been one of Colwell’s friends since high school, also wrote on Instagram that Colwell “made everyone feel seen and safe” and “he loved deeply and gave of himself fearlessly”.
