The Australian sports community have shared tributes to Queensland-based commentator and television personality Billy J Smith.
Smith, 73, passed away on Tuesday night after a fall. He was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital but did not regain consciousness.Billy J Smith in an episode of game show It's a Knockout. Smith made his name calling rugby league in Brisbane for radio and television in the 1970s and 80s and also hosted popular game show "It's a Knockout" between 1985 and 1987.
He played a part in rugby league history, calling the very first State of Origin at Lang Park and was on the panel of the first version of Many in the rugby league community shared tributes to Smith on social media following the tragic news of his death.
