Tributes are flowing tonight for a teenager after she was struck and killed by a bus in Brisbane's CBD.

Tia Cameron, 18, had just walked out of beauty salon Milash at the corner of Edward and Ann streets when she was struck by the bus after it mounted the footpath and collided with a building during peak hour at 5pm yesterday.Tia Cameron, 18, had just walked out of beauty salon Milash at the corner of Edward and Ann streets. She died at the scene andMilash owner Minh Phan said the teenager was in a "very happy" mood when she arrived at the salon.

Transport for Brisbane divisional manager Samantha Abeydeera said the bus had recently passed a routine test."Now the vehicle will actually go through an engineering investigation to ensure there were no mechanical failures.""We are convinced that we have a very safe fleet, very safe operators," Abeydeera said.Investigations are now underway into what caused the bus to mount the curb.

"This is a time to remember that we are part of a community and to be kind to each other and support each other."Every one of those questions will be answered."Four were taken to hospital, including the bus driver, who was treated for shock and minor injuries.
