He was the treasurer of Ardoyne Afterschool Club and longtime Leader-in-Charge of Ardoyne Youth Club.In a statement, a spokesperson AYC said: "Today is a sad day in our community and a sad day for anyone who has been involved in Ardoyne Youth Club. Hugo Magee, who devoted his life to Ardoyne Youth Club and the young people in our community has passed away.
Ardoyne Afterschool Club said anyone who knew Hugo knew that he and his team in Ardoyne Youth Club "devoted decades of their lives trying to improve and positively impact the future of thousands of young people from the district, through the darkest days of The Troubles and beyond"."But for us and many others he was a leader, teacher, carer, colleague, Committee Member, advisor, gentleman, role-model, memory-maker...all of these and more, but most importantly a friend.
