The PSNI said three men aged 32, 48 and 49 were arrested in the Belfast area

Three people were arrested in Belfast on Tuesday morning by police investigating the attempted murder of PSNI detective John Caldwell.

36 arrests have been made as part of the investigation into the shooting, with 14 people charged and four reported to the Public Prosecution Service.Police say the attack was carried out by a joint enterprise between dissident republicans and an organised crime group. Multiple properties were also searched and a vehicle was seized by police as part of the investigation.

"They were arrested in the Belfast area under the Terrorism Act, and have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
