Tristan Sailor found not guilty of sexual assault | gmitch_news
Former NRL footballer Tristan Sailor has been found not guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at her Sydney home.
The woman told the court her last memory before she blacked out was sitting at her kitchen table and playing a drinking game, as she felt “wobbly” and had head spins. The next day, she said, she woke up bleeding from the backside and was unsure what happened. He said he had attended seminars on drugs, alcohol and consent at least once a year since he was a teenager, as part of his football career, and was aware of “the accountability that men need to have in their self-awareness in relation to consent”.
On Thursday, a jury of seven men and three women found Mr Sailor not guilty of two counts of sexual intercourse without consent, recklessly inflicting actual bodily harm, after deliberating for several hours.
