A tropical disturbance over the Bay of Campeche in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico now has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression or tropical storm later Friday or Saturday, and it could lead to enhanced rainfall in parts of South Texas this weekend.
The National Hurricane Center has issued Tropical Storm Warnings for parts of the Texas and Mexican coasts.
is simply a convention used by the NHC to identify a disturbed area of weather that has the potential to impact land as an organized tropical cyclone during the next few days. The system is also expected to lead to enhanced rainfall in parts of South Texas as well as rough surf through the weekend.
