An adviser to United States President-elect Donald Trump has appeared to send a warning sign to Australia's ambassador to the US, Kevin Rudd. On Tuesday, Trump aide Dan Scavino reshared a post that Rudd made on 7 November congratulating Trump on his victory and saying Australia "looks forward to working closely" with the president-elect and his administration.
Last week, as it became clear Trump would be the next US president, Rudd deleted several posts from his X account that were critical of Trump. In March this year, Trump described Rudd as "nasty" and suggested he "would not last long" as ambassador if Trump were re-elected.
