Former President Donald Trump took to social media Monday morning to attack Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and his automatic voter registration initiative as a threat to Republican candidates.
“Pennsylvania is at it again! The Radical Left Governor, Josh Shapiro has just announced a switch to automatic voter registration, a disaster for the Election of Republicans, including your favorite president, ME! Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social. Shapiro last week announced plans to begin automatic voter registration for anyone applying for a new or renewed driver’s license, unless they opt out.
Republican lawmakers in Pennsylvania immediately denounced the measure, saying the governor implemented it without seeking legislative approval.
