President Donald Trump has touted the success of his strict immigration policy in his address the Republican National Convention. The President said his administration stood firm against efforts from the Washington Special Interest who attempted to uproot his border policies. “But I refused to back down and today America’s borders are more secure than ever before,” he said.

Mr Trump revealed 300 miles of his controversial border wall with Mexico was already built, with 10 miles added to the project every week. “The wall will soon be complete and it is working beyond our wildest expectations.” He said under his watch, the “catch and release” program – which saw migrants released into the community while awaiting an immigration court hearing – was ended, as well as the deportation of 20,000 gang members and 500,000 “criminal aliens”.
