Circuit stems from a case in which Trump sued to block Democrats from subpoenaing one of his accounting firms for a vast trove of materials as Congress probes for potential conflicts of interest and payments from foreign governments to the president.
“Today’s ruling is a fundamental and resounding victory for Congressional oversight, our Constitutional system of checks and balances, and the rule of law,” Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings said Friday. “For far too long, the president has placed his personal interests over the interests of the American people.”
