President Donald Trump has formally withdrawn the United States from the World Health Organisation. The President announced his intention more than a month ago after criticising the organisation's response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Funding was frozen in April while the Administration reviewed the relationship. A Senior Administration official confirmed Congress received notification of the withdrawal. The US remains the worst-affected nation with almost three million cases of coronavirus. The process of withdrawal is set to take a year. Image: AP
