.camstewarttheoz: POTUS loves a good battle. He has come out with his proposed budget - which has little realism in it - which is often knocked down by Congress. He wants $8.6bn in funds for his border wall on top of national emergency funding. MORE:
US President Donald Trump has released his record $4.75 trillion budget plan for the 2020 fiscal year; the largest in American federal history. The plan includes a nearly five per cent increase in military spending and an additional $8.6 billion in funding for the US-Mexico border wall.
President Trump's budget includes reductions in funding for safety net programs such as Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. The budget proposal is not likely to have any impact on spending levels, which are primarily controlled by Congress and is believed to be a political-play by the President to carve out his campaign platform ahead of the upcoming elections.
